I was born and raised in the Turkish Schaerbeek District. When I hit 30, I decided to film two old friends from when I was a teen, one of Turkish origin and the other from Morocco, to discuss the lives we led and the paths we chose growing up. We began the first observations of uncertainties about our identities. Through the prism of my personal background marked by questions about our identity and relationship to others, the Muslim culture so close yet so far, I film for several months Laila and Zeynep. They try to establish themselves, sometimes professionally, sometimes emotionally, affected by the complexities of being a woman between two cultures, two worlds.
