First Bound

In Uruguay, at the Pereira Rossel de Montevideo Hospital, volunteers take turns every day, twenty four hours a day, cradling babies who were born into very unstable situations. We call them kangaroos. Something deeply human is at stake there - within that maternity clinic, within that baby’s room, within the inner fort of each one of them. It’s a two-way relationship: while saving the babies, these adults are getting in touch with something very deeply inscribed within themselves.
