Synopsis
Synopsis | After an accident in Bordeaux, Leila partially loses her memory. She leaves France, flees her language and her past, and spends twenty years in artistic exile between Berlin and other blurred realities. She no longer speaks French, creates in English or Arabic, and settles into a kind of oblivion. But the “hole in her head” eventually catches up with her. In Brussels, where she develops her music and films, she begins a return to the French language and embarks on a true healing journey. She meets doctors, lawyers, specialists, as well as others marked by trauma (exile, violence, accidents), many of whom are also grappling with amnesia. By reconnecting with her Arab roots and language, she opens a dialogue with those torn apart by wars. Between Brussels, Paris, Berlin, and Baghdad, their wounds become shared stories. Creation becomes a tool for healing, transmission, and reconnection. |
