Las Helenas

Finding the journal of my grandmother Hélène, a Holocaust survivor, opened a door long shut in my family. Her forgotten words guide me through the silences of my history—of migrations, conflicts, and exclusions. As a new genocide takes place before our eyes, I confront the echoes of the past in the present: to question violence, to call upon memory, and to challenge inherited bonds. This film is my investigation, my response, my commitment—to give voice to what was silenced, in her and in me, and to imagine another future.
